David DeCosmo bio 

David is a Hazleton native who has spent more than 60 years in the media. He literally began his broadcasting career as an Errand boy at WAZL Radio in Hazleton while a senior at Hazleton High School He was a DJ until the mid 60s until a career change brought him to News and, eventually, television. 

He covered a number of major stories including the George Banks mass murders, the Kennedy/ Kopchne car accident, and the TWA flight 800 crash which claimed the lives of some students from Mountoursville, Pennsylvania. He served as Public Information Officer for Luzerne County Civil Defense during the tropical storm Agnes flood which destroyed thousands of homes and businesses in the Wyoming Valley area of Pennsylvania in 1972. 

David has won a number of awards from the Pennsylvania State Associated Press Broadcasters Association and served two terms as President of that organization. He has taught Broadcast Journalism and Broadcast Management at both Wilkes and King's Universities in Wilkes-Barre and currently does a daily video Blog via Facebook. He and his wife Leona celebrated their 53 anniversary in April of 2022. They have three children and six grandchildren
