Internship Role: Bookkeeping and Accounting Intern
Position Overview:
Seeking a detail-oriented and organized student to join our team as a Bookkeeping and Accounting Intern. This position provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in financial management within the music industry while supporting the operations of a virtual record label.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Record Management
- Maintain accurate records of income, expenses, and transactions using accounting software or spreadsheets.
- Assist in organizing and categorizing financial data for the label’s operations.
2. Invoicing and Payments
- Prepare and track invoices for clients, vendors, and artists.
- Monitor incoming and outgoing payments to ensure timely processing.
3. Budgeting Assistance
- Support the development and monitoring of budgets for projects, campaigns, and overall operations.
- Provide insights and recommendations for cost-saving opportunities.
4. Royalty Tracking and Reporting
- Assist in calculating and distributing royalties to artists and collaborators.
- Ensure compliance with contractual terms for payments and revenue sharing.
5. Financial Analysis and Reporting
- Compile financial data for monthly and quarterly reports.
- Analyze trends and provide insights into the label’s financial performance.
6. Compliance and Documentation
- Ensure financial practices adhere to industry standards and legal requirements.
- Organize and maintain financial records for audits and tax filings.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in an accounting, finance, or business-related program.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or other spreadsheet software; experience with accounting tools (e.g., QuickBooks) is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information.
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
- Interest in the music or entertainment industry is a bonus but not required.
